Irony

This morning as I make my way down the driveway to the mailbox I am struck by the irony of the two cards I am sending.  One is to my husband’s aunt who turns 94 this week.  The other is to a friend whose father died this week at a young 72.

I am slapped up the side of the head again with the fact that you just don’t know how long you get.  Walking back to the house I smile at the little sheltie girl waiting for me behind the glass door.  She’s happy Happy HAPPY for TODAY, right here, right now.  Not going to worry about tomorrow Mom, going to have fun RIGHT NOW!

Lucky dog.  Lucky me.

About Dawn King

I'm a long time banker, having started in the business at sixteen as a co-op student filing checks in a bank bookkeeping department after school. After 26 years in banking I made a scary decision and went back to grad school to become a librarian. Now that I've graduated and worked at a library for a time I'm facing unemployment again; economic times have created shortages in most of the communities near me. So what's next? Hard to say...stay tuned to find out!

Dogs always remind us to seize the day and enjoy the moment.

Oreo wakes up every morning with the attitude, “Come on! Let’s Party!” It always makes me laugh.

Yea , sometimes I wish I could be more like a dog. Just live for the now and in the moment. Diana

  4. Well, I guess we can learn a lot from them – seize the day, enjoy every moment and live life to the fullest.

It is the greatest thing we can learn from our furrbabies and that is live in the moment.
